(209) Sverd i fjell - Ortur Laser Master 2 Pro S2 – Ortur Master 2 Pro - 20W LU2-4-SF-24v
Toady I am working with the Ortur Laser Master 2 Pro S2 again. I am trying to adjust the settings to where I want them and this the first attempt at producing an image on 140 lb. Watercolor paper that I coated with a coat of Rustoleum Gloss White and one coat of Rustoleum Gloss Black.
The subject of this burn is Sverd i fjell (Swords in Rock). Also known as The Swords of Stavanger unveiled by King Olav V of Norway in 1983. The three bronze swords stand 10 metres (33 ft) tall and are planted into the rock of a small hill next to the fjord. They commemorate the historic Battle of Hafrsfjord which by tradition took place there in the year 872, when King Harald Fairhair gathered all of Norway under one crown. The largest sword represents the victorious Harald, and the two smaller swords represent the defeated petty kings. The monument also represents peace, since the swords are planted into solid rock, so they may never be removed.
I have a few more of these runestones that I want to try with the laser. Hopefully I can get the result that I am looking for. I may have to give canvas for these.
Also, we have had some weird weather here and as the burn was going, the tape I was using started loosing its adhesion to the base. So along the video, you will see my hands in and out of the video trying to press the corners down. I apologize for the distraction. Also, the laser shield kept getting caught on the corner of the paper and I replaced it with an orange shield from the LU2-4 12 laser module.
Thank you again for “Made The Best” for supplying me this laser. I greatly appreciate it!!
