Airbus Helicopters has partnered with the Norwegian Air Ambulance Foundation to develop an ecosystem for electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft to support air medical missions in Norway. The aim is to reduce emergency response times and improve patient outcomes by integrating eVTOLs into the existing system of conventional helicopters. The partnership will focus on measuring the added value of eVTOLs for different medical use cases and creating a comprehensive roadmap for their implementation. The first step will be evaluating the efficiency of the current emergency medical system in Norway and simulating different air medical service scenarios. The Norwegian Air Ambulance Foundation is Norway's national Helicopter Emergency Medical Service operator.
