ANTIQUE, GATED Jacksonville Elevator Co. Hydraulic Elevator at The Park Plaza Hotel, Winter Park, FL

I was going to upload this video on January 26th for WestCoast Elevators' Birthday, but due to how busy I've been I didn't get to upload or edit this video in time. That being said, be sure to wish him a Happy Belated Birthday!

And to Celebrate, let's do so with this AMAZING & EPIC Gated Jacksonville (Rotary) HYDRAULIC Elevator, located at a Historic Hotel just outside of Downtown Orlando, one of the VERY SELECT FEW Remaining Vintage Elevators remaining in Central Florida!

Located at the Historic Park Plaza Hotel, this hotel was built in 1922, and this elevator was added in either the 1940s or 1950s. Just like Florida Elevator Co., Jacksonville Elevator Co. is also a Rotary distributor, so this is definitely a Rotary! Unfortunately, the Piston Pump Hydraulic Motor was replaced with a modern Submersible Pump, but aside from that, this elevator remains almost completely untouched! It's SUPER TINY, and the Starts and Stops are VERY ROUGH, but that's just part of the charm of this thing! ;) It also overshoots the floor a bit and drops back down to 2 after going up, but again, that just makes this thing more fun and more unique, not something that can be said about many 2 story hydros.
This elevator has also been kept in EXCELLENT Condition, the COP, Gates and Call Stations are all super clean and almost look as if they were just installed yesterday!

All in all, just an Excellent & Charming Little Elevator at a Unique, Historic & Charming Little Hotel, that hopefully won't be modernized anytime soon (after all, even with a mod, due to it's size, it still wouldn't be ADA compliant!)!!! If you guys ever make it to the Orlando area and you like elevators, definitely make sure you stop by here! I can guarantee you that you won't be disappointed!
