Driving in Norway: Motorveien E39 from Ålgård to Stavanger

In this video, you can drive along on the E39 from Ålgård to Stavanger in Norway. Ålgård is a charming and historic town located in the heart of the county of Rogaland. It's surrounded by rolling hills and lush forests, and is known for its traditional architecture and strong cultural heritage.

Stavanger, on the other hand, is a bustling city located on the west coast of Norway. It's the third largest city in Norway and is a major center for the oil and gas industry. Despite its modern and dynamic atmosphere, Stavanger has a rich cultural history and is home to several museums and historic sites.

Currently, only a short part of the E39 near Stavanger is built to a motorway standard. It is eventually planned to have a continuous motorway between Stavanger and Kristiansand. Recently a new segment has opened near Mandal.

The infrastructure in and around Stavanger is quite impressive. Most of it is in tunnels beneath the city, which cost a pretty penny to build. In a later video I will also feature the nearby Ryfylketunnelen, currently the world's longest twin-tube road tunnel in operation.
