Anne Grete Ellingsen is recognized as the first female Platform Manager/Offshore Installation Manager in the North Sea and a former Deputy Minister for the Petroleum and Energy Ministry of Norway. She was a pioneer at a time when hardly any women held high positions in the emerging oil and gas industry in Norway.
Anne Grete completed her studies in oil and refining in 1975 and joined the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate as a junior engineer and the only female. In 1980 she joined Elf Aquitaine where she became the first female Platform Manager/Offshore Installation Manager of the offshore North Sea Frigg Field in 1981. From 1990-92 she was Deputy Minister of Petroleum and Energy and in 1992-93 she served as Secretary General of the 14th World Petroleum Congress.
Anne Grete has held executive positions with Statoil Group, Agder Energi, Vestavind Offshore, the Norwegian Confederation for Trade and Services and others. In 2013, Anne Grete joined GCE NODE (Global Center of Expertise | Norwegian Drilling Offshore Engineering) as CEO.
