The North Atlantic is not a classic cruising area. It is rather something for sailors who don't like the heat of the Mediterranean summer or want to escape crowded harbors or are tired of anchoring in overcrowded bays.

Why not step in the footsteps of the Vikings who sailed from Norway to Iceland in open boats over 1000 years ago. The distances are not that long. 600 nm is the shortest distance between Bergen in Norway and the east coast of Iceland. If you make a stopover on the Faroe Islands, the distance to the next landfall is only 300 nm. Therefore in the range of a usually quite reliable weather forecast, even for not so fast sailing boats.

The video describes our experiences on a 5-week trip in July 2022 on the North Atlantic from Bergen via the Faroe Islands to Iceland. In three weeks we sailed counterclockwise around Iceland from Seydisfjördur to the Westmen Islands and from there non stop back to Stavanger in Norway.
