I am continuing my journey of experiencing cultures of the world in Norway. There has always been a fascination with Norway within my immediately family and I point to theme parks and Hollywood as the guilty parties. Who doesn't love a good Viking television show or cartoon about Trolls? To say it is only that, is an injustice. Norway has long been a place of myths and legends, even if it hasn't always been independent. There is so much to see and learn about Norway and this is part one of my adventure. Are you prepared for what lies ahead?
1. Stavanger - Food, bars, and fjords dominate the oldest settlement in Norway. This is also where the Viking Battle to unify Norway took place. I could spend months here and not see everything.
2. Oslo - Presently a household name around the world, this city is smaller than expected. By that I mean shorter. It's a low-rise city with all the urban trimmings, museums, and royal sites. Will I find Vikings in the capitol or headbang my way to the next stop?
3. Roadtrips within and international trip. Its the ultimate inception.
4. What is more haunting? The violent past of Vikings or the Dalen Hotel? Would you stay there?
Mahaloz, y'all!
