We are here in STAVANGER NORWAY. This town is famous for being a big producer of OIL. Oil was found over here and gave this area a very big bust. This is a happening town. The economy is really strong specially because of the oil that was found over here in the ocean.
We are going to see a library inside a cultural center. We are going to see where the new ( cultural center ) and the old come together (wooden houses).
In 1272 there was a fire and a large part of the city got burnt. The people wanted to reconstruct the houses in brick because bricks don't catch on fire so fast but the y did not have enough money to do so. The economy here back than was not good. They ended up rebuilding the whole thing in wood again because in Norway there is an abundance of wood. It's a beautiful little town. With cobblestones streets, Stavanger is charming and a great shopping area with beautiful stores and boutiques. If time allow stop for the smallest cup of coffee ant the Italian restaurant! They still have an old movie theater and a McDonald's! Come and visit Stavange you will fall in love with it!
