The full rig "Sørlandet" is the world's oldest operating full rig. The ship was built in 1927 and was a former school ship that was originally run by the Sørlandets Sailing School Ship Institution (today Sørlandet's maritime secondary school). The ship was built to be used for basic training of seafarers. Today, the ship runs its own high school specialization.
