After visiting Athens, we had one day trip to Nea Makri and Marathon. Nea Makri is Greek's one of the best beach site and Marathon is famous for the Battle of Marathon which took place in 490 BC, during the first Persian invasion of Greece. It was fought between the citizens of Athens, aided by Plataea, and a Persian force commanded by Datis and Artaphernes.
