A Christmas event (and tradition) in Stavanger is the buidling of a gingerbread city. This is not just a small collection of gingerbread houses, it has over 200 individual gingerbread structures and this year some that had to be close to 3 feet tall! It is hosted by the Norwegian Oil Museum (https://www.norskolje.museum.no/) who donate a generous amount of money per gingerbread that is submitted to a local charity that gives familes in need Christmas (https://www.facebook.com/gienjul).
I had to check it out! I went for a talk (it took over 20 minutes) to have a slow wander around the gingerbreadcity and I loved the variety of the shapes, sizes, and types of structures. From a skillfully crafted #mandalorian (with baby #yoda to sweet small self potraits from childern under 6 years old. Com take a walk through this unique city and treat yourself to a gingerbread.
